Photos of the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the owner of the private funeral company allegedly contracted for the mass burial of 103 EndSARS protest victims have emerged.
Reports emerged on Sunday afternoon that the state government engaged the service of Messrs Tos Funeral Ltd, owned by Taiwo Ogunsola, in Lagos State.
Since the shooting by men suspected to be Nigerian military in October 20, 2020, there have been claims and denials by government officials of d3aths during the operation that night.
It was gathered that TOS Funerals Limited, a privately-owned and family-run Funeral business, allegedly possesses the corpses of the slain 103 #EndSars protesters.
According to a letter published by SaharaReporters, the bodies of the slain Lekki tollgate #Endsars protesters have allegedly been hidden at the morgue for almost three years.
Photos which emerged online captured Sanwo-Olu and the owner of the morgue.
Peoples Gazette, also alleged that Sanwo-Olu approved the mass burial of at least 103 protesters who were ‘massacred’ by joint forces of the Nigerian Army and the police during the October 20, 2020 protest against police brutality tagged #EndSARS at the Lekki toll gate.
According to the letter dated July 19 by the public procurement agency, the state government engaged the private firm at the cost of N61,285,000 to bury 103 bodies which were identified to be victims of the killings.
The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Sanwo-Olu, Gboyega Akosile is reported to have told Peoples Gazette that the government will release its response soon.
