Pictures have emerged showing Ugwunba Uche Nwosu, the son-in-law of the former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha in handcuffs following his arrest on Sunday morning.
Hetty’s Media published live videos of the former Commissioner for Lands who was also a former governorship candidate in the state as he was being whisked away from a church service.
The incident occurred at St Peter’s Anglican Church, Umunwokwe Village, Eziama-Obiare, Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State.
Armed men stormed the church premises during the thanksgiving service that followed the burial of Nwosu’s late mother, Madam Jemimah Nwosu.
Operatives of the Nigerian Police Force caused panic in and around the church premises as they shot sporadically leaving members of the church scampering to safety as they grabbed and whisked Uche Nwosu away in the trunk of a waiting vehicle.
There are, however, reports that he has been released by the police unconditionally, a development that is said to be confirmed by his special adviser on media, Nwadike Chikezie.
Chikezie, in a statement condemned the state government led by Governor Hope Uzodinma for not respecting the house of God where the the captive was arrested.
