Bianca Ojukwu, wife of the Biafran Leader, Chukwuemeka Odumagwu Ojukwu has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to release the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Speaking at the 10th memorial anniversary of the late Igbo leader on Friday, November 26 in Owerri, Mrs Ojukwu called on President Buhari to hearken to the plea of some Igbo leaders who paid him a visit at the state house.
Addressing the President, the former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, said “Please release Nnamdi Kanu. Kanu’s release will further buttress President Buhari’s commitment to healing the wounds inflicted by the sense of marginalisation felt by the Igbo nation,” Bianca said.
On his part, the Founder of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, Ralph Uwazurike reiterated the appreciation of Ndigbo to Odumegwu Ojukwu who stood up for his people.
According to him, “This year’s memorial is a further reminder of who Ikemba Odumegwu Ojukwu was. Ojukwu was a great man who fought for the liberation of Ndigbo.”
Uwazurike also urged the president to listen to the appeal made by Igbo leaders on Kanu’s behalf.
