The Nigerian Police has arrested a security operative attached to the governor of Ekiti States’s wife on allegations of rape.
The information was made public on Wednesday by the Ekiti State Government who said the incident took place on Monday, 5th July, 2021 in Abuja.
The state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Olawale Fapohunda vowed to make the culprit face the full wrath of the law.
He revealed that the matter is currently under investigation by the Federal Capital (FCT) Police Command in Abuja.
According to him, “The case is now being handled by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), FCT Command Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force.”
The Ekiti State government has promised to fully assist the investigative team to ensure that justice is served the suspect.
Meanwhile, the victim is said to be receiving psycho-social and legal support to cope with the trauma while her identity is being guarded.
