Police Give Update on the Invasion of Atiku’s Residence by Terrorists

The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed the invasion of the residence of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, in Yola, the state capital.

Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, said on his Twitter handle on Monday that a terrorist invaded Atiku’s residence.

According to Omokri, the attack, which happened on Sunday night, was a threat to the life of the former Vice President. Omokri then called on the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to investigate the incident thoroughly.

Reacting to the development in an interview with SaharaReporters, the spokesperson for the Adamawa Police Command, Suleiman Nguroje, said two culprits have been arrested.

Nguroje stated that operatives of the command arrested the two suspected terrorists and handed them over to the military for further investigation.

The command spokesman disclosed that police handed the suspects over to the military because their attempted crime is terrorism in nature.

He said: “Yes, one Jibrilla Mohammed was arrested at the residence of the former vice president in Yola, and while interrogating him we got to arrest his accomplice.

“We have handed them over to the military because their attempted crime is terrorism in nature.”
