CSP Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, from the NPF Headquarters in Abuja has given an update on the police operatives that brutalised an Okada rider in Lagos on Wednesday.
Yesterday, it was reported that some police operatives, manhandled an okada rider at Oja Oba, Ogundele Street, close to Abule Egba under bridge, Lagos State and also impounded his motorcycle.
Giving update on the case, Adejobi said that the policemen, who injured the bike man and impounded the motorcycle, have been identified by the Lagos State Police Command.
He said, “I am aware that the policemen have been identified. This unprofessional act has been condemned by the IGP, and he has ordered the CP Lagos to take necessary actions. The Lagos State Police command will give us an update on this matter tomorrow, Thursday, 18th May, 2023.”
Speaking further, Adejobi noted that the police hierarchy was indeed impressed with the painstaking efforts taken by Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, CP Idowu Owohunwa, on this case, and many others in Lagos State.
He said he still wants to appreciate Nigerians, for assisting the police to expose the unprofessional elements in the Force, who are fond of tarnishing the image of the Nigeria Police Force.
He said, “It is quite unfortunate that some of our men on the field are recalcitrant. The child who says his mother will not sleep will not surely sleep. Iree oo.”
