The Osun State police command has issued a strong warning to the State Governor-Elect, Ademola Adeleke and his supporters and political associates.
The command called on them to celebrate their recent victory in the just concluded Osun gubernatorial election with caution.
Adeleke polled a total of 403,371 votes in the just concluded election, defeating the sitting governor Adegboyega Oyetola who had 375,027 votes.
In a public announcement signed by Yemisi Opalola, the Command’s spokesperson, the police urged the politician and his associates to avoid hate or derogatory speech that could cause unrest in the state.
The command insisted that caution is paramount as hoodlums, criminals and thugs were likely to cause disturbance in the state under the guise of celebrating Adeleke’s victory.
“The CP, assured the citizens of adequate security and solicited for the cooperation of all and sundry to sustain the peaceful environment being enjoyed in the State,” he said.
The command dismissed fears over the non-issuance of Certificate of Return to the winner of Saturday’s guber election and revealed that it had information that the governor-elect would be receiving it on Wednesday, July, 20, 2022.
