Police React to Catholic Seminary Students’ Kidnap

The Kaduna State Police Command has reacted to the kidnap of students of a Catholic seminary located in the Fayit community in Kagoma Chiefdom of Kaduna State.

Reports say that gunmen suspected to be bandits/terrorists stormed St Albert the Great Institute of Philosophy school at about 8:00pm, Monday night shooting sporadically in the air.

The invasion which lasted over one hour got everybody scampering to safety as the kidnappers rounded up a yet to be specified number of students and injured many.

They were however, repelled by local hunters and vigilantes who attacked them head on. The kidnapper however, made away with the students.

Speaking on the incident, in Kaduna on Tuesday, the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), ASP Mohammed Julie confirmed the abduction.

He added that police is carrying out investigations and that they are also making efforts to rescue the kidnapped Catholic Students.

He noted that an update will be made available to the press once investigations are concluded.
