The Niger State Police Command has launched a manhunt for those who hung a day-old baby on a barbwire last week Thursday.
Hetty’s Media is informed that the culprits hung the baby in the dangerous wires in an abandoned building at the Dusten-Kura area of Minna, the Niger State Capital. The incident resulted in the baby’s death.
The state police command in a statement issued earlier today said it has launched a manhunt for the perpetrators of the gruesome murder.
Reports say that when the baby was found, he was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival by doctors.
The Police Public Relations Officer for Niger State, Wasiu Abiodun, in a statement to newsmen said that investigations into the crime have begun.
According to him, “On Thursday, 12th of August, 2021, at about 1345hrs, based on credible intelligence, police operatives attached to GRA, Minna found a dead newly born baby along Dutsen-Kura Hausa Road, Minna.
“Police operatives later removed the corpse to General Hospital Minna where the baby was confirmed dead.
“Investigations into the unfortunate incident is ongoing to arresting the perpetrator(s) of such evil acts.”
