The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, is scheduled to meet former President, Olusegun Obasanjo today, August 17, 2022.
The meeting is said to hold at Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital.
The meeting between both politicians is part of the move by APC leader to actualise his presidential ambition in 2023.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, Kunle Somorin revealed this in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday morning.
According to Somorin, the APC presidential candidate after meeting Obasanjo would address the people at the MKO Abiola International Stadium.
The statement reads, “Learnt that the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be visiting Abeokuta, Ogun State today, Wednesday, August 17, 2022.
“He’s scheduled to visit President Olusegun Obasanjo at 10.00 am and address the people at the MKO Abiola Int’l Stadium immediately after.”
Tinubu is hoping to take over power from President Muhammadu Buhari when his tenure ends in 2023.
The presidential ambition of the National Leader of the APC, however, has been facing challenges following his decision to pick the former Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima as his running mate in 2023.
Some Nigerians are not pleased with the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the ruling party.
