The Presidency has allegedly sacked a top policy adviser for leaking the personal information of the son of the Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Gambari.
Lai Yahaya, is said to be accused of leaking the information to an online newspaper, PeoplesGazette
The senior policy adviser to the Presidency on Electric Power Initiatives allegedly exposed Bolaji, son of Ibrahim Gambari to the newspaper.
Information also has it that Yahaya left Nigeria for Europe for fear of further retribution.
A lawyer and sustainable energy consultant, he served under late Abba Kyari, former Chief of Staff to the President until 2017.
He left the position to serve as adviser to Railer Odinga at the African Union.
Yahaya was recalled in May 2020 by Ibrahim Gambari after the later assumed office as CoS to the President.
He became the senior adviser on power infrastructure for just a few months before he was sacked on the allegations of leaking the sensitive information.
It is alleged that Lai Yahaya was the only one privy to the exposed details, a development that the Oxford University’s Balliol College graduate has vehemently denied.
Details of the information that Yahaya is said to have leaked are not yet public.
