The Presidency has announced that President Bola Tinubu plans to reshuffle his cabinet in the coming days.

The Genius Media Nigeria  reports that President Tinubu has expressed his desire to reshuffle his cabinet, according to Bayo Onanuga.

Onanuga made it known that the president hasn’t given a timeline yet but he has confirmed that he would do it.

Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, revealed this on Wednesday while briefing State House reporters at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Onanuga explained that the president’s decision to reshuffle his cabinet would be based on empirical evidence and performance reports.

“Tinubu has expressed his intent to rejig his cabinet,” Onanuga stated.

“Let me tell you, I don’t have a timeline. The President has expressed his desire to reshuffle his cabinet, and he will do it. I don’t know whether it will happen before October 1, but he will surely do it. That’s all I can say. He hasn’t provided a specific timeline, but he has made it clear that it will happen,” he added.

O’Tega Ogra, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital/New Media, added that the decision would not be arbitrary but based on performance reports presented by the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination, Hadiza Bala-Usman, who also heads the Central Delivery Coordination Unit.

“The President’s decision to reshuffle his cabinet is grounded in empirical evidence. During the ministers’ retreat, he mentioned that there would be periodic reviews, and the outcomes of these reviews would guide his final decisions,” Ogra said.

He added, “I know he has received several reports, and as Mr. Onanuga said, when he is ready, he will act.”
