President Muhammadu Buhari is currently holding a security meeting with Nigeria’s security chiefs at the Aso Rock Villa.
The meeting comes about 24 hours after an attempted robbery attempt on the residence of the Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Agboola Gambari.
The meeting was announced via the Twitter handle of the Presidency but the agenda was not made public.
It is however, expected that top on the agenda should be the current security challenges facing the nation.
Barely two weeks ago, Monday 30th of April, another security meeting was held followed by another on the 4th of May 2021.
Today’s meeting kicked off at 10:00am and is holding at the Conference Hall of the Office of the First Lady.
In attendance are: President @MBuhari presiding, Vice President, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; National Security Adviser, Major General babagana Munguno; Ministers, Service Chiefs, IGP, Intelligence Chiefs; Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyema; Minister of Defence Major General Bashir Salihi (Rtd) and Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
There were reports of a an armed robbery within the villa on Sunday night. However, the Senior Special Assistance to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu described it as “a foolish attempt” to burgle the residence of the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof Ibrahim Gambiri which is located within the Villa, a street next to the President’s.
Garba Shehu said the incident happened around 3:00am.

“Professor Gambari, whose house is on a street next to the Villa has assured that there is nothing to worry about from the incident.
“Both in office and out of office, her concern for the education of the girl child, especially those of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, who were abducted by Boko Haram terrorists, shone through.
