President Buhari is set to host his very first virtual Federal Executive Council Meeting on Wednesday.

The information was given by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami through the ministry’s Twitter handle.

Speaking on the development, Dr Pantami said that the President will chair the meeting which is expected to run as though all Federal Executive Council Members were within the same conference room.

For this reason, preparations are in top gear to ensure a hitch-free session. All relevant agencies converged on Aso Rock to test-run every single equipment. The Minister supervised the entire test-run today.

The message on the Ministry’s Twitter handle states that “in preparation for the upcoming Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, to be held on Wednesday, which will be chaired by his Excellency, President @MBuhari GCFR, the Honourable Minister of Communications and #DigitalEconomy, @DrIsaPantami today supervised a test run.

According to Pantami,

Agencies under the supervision of the Ministry, @Galaxybackbone, @NITDANigeria and@NigComSat1R will be providing a digital platform and technical support for the meeting.”

Buhari to host virtual meeting for the first time perhaps but Vice President has been holding virtual team meetings, webinars and video conferences. The method has become inevitable in a bid to ensure WHO’s recommendation on social distancing.

Osinbajo has fully adapted to the method to drive the recent assignment given to him in March 2020 by President Muhammadu Buhari.

VP Osinbajo is the Chairman of the Economic Sustainability Committee. One of the terms of reference according to Osinbajo is to redesign our economic planning and change our thinking in view of the drastic changes brought on by the covid19 pandemic and the crash n the price of oil in the global market.
