Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been discharged from hospital after fully recovering from the coronavirus disease.

Boris Johnson and health Secretary Matt Hancock tested positive to coronavirus after their statuses were announced on the 27th of March.

He thereafter, went into isolation and continued to work from home.

Unfortunately, he developed more serious symptoms and was taken into intensive care last Thursday. This was more so as his doctors suspected that he may be needing a ventilator.

However, after his first night in intensive care one doctor said his case was still moderate.

It is uncertain if the ventilator was eventually used but Downing Street reports today that he has left hospital.

In a video released this afternoon, the Prime Minister commended the “personal courage” of the NHS in the face of an “enemy they do not yet understand.”

He then named several health care officials that attended to him . Boris Johnson commended them for their courage and care. Some of the nurses are not even British. According to him, they “kept putting themselves in harms way, kept risking this deadly virus.”

Among them are Jenny from New Zealand and Louis from Portugal. Both nurses stood by his bedside for 48 hours at a time he considered most critical.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson added that “it is thanks to that courage, that devotion, that duty and that love that our NHS has been unbeatable.”

He will however, not be returning to work immediately as he is expected to move to his residence in Chequers to fully recuperate
