Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have bought a new home worth $14.65 million in Santa Barbara.
Reports say they acquired the mansion at the beginning of July after spending the last few months of the #COVID19 pandemic at Tyler Perry’s Beverly Hills mansion.
The home might not be a royal palace, but the Montecito edifice comes with all the trappings of royalty. It comprises a 9-bedroom with 16 bathrooms and sits over 7 acres of land.
The $14.65 million transaction is made up of a trust purchase and a $9.5 million mortgage.
Omid Scobie, author of finding freedom says that the couple is exited to raise their 2-year old son, Archie in a home bought entirely with their own money with no financial assistance whatsoever. He will finally grow up without the prying eyes of the media.
The sprawling $14.65 million home comprises a library, a gym, an office and a home theatre. Other amenities include a spa, with seperate wet and dry saunas, a game room and an arcade.
There is also a lot of space for Archie to play around in the massive backyard complete with a swimming pool, tennis court, tea house and a children’s cottage. He will finally play peacefully without paparazzi hunting him.
A two-bedroom guest house with two bathrooms completes the estate just in case the family has many visitors and the main house cannot accommodate everyone.
It would also serve as a home for Meghan’s mum, Doria who currently lives in Los Angeles. News has it that Meghan has always wanted her to move in with them.
Unlike the time Prince Harry and Meghan Markle lived at Tyler Perry’s home with their little son, when paparazzi pryed on their very private moments with drones, this house is uber secure.
After stepping down as senior members of the royal family in January, the couple rented a home in the Cotswolds. They moved from there to a Vancouver Island Mansion temporarily and later to Los Angeles.
