Private Covid19 Laboratory Sealed in Banana Island, Ikoyi

The Lagos State Ministry of Healh has sealed up a private covid19 laboratory in the high brow Banana Island of Ikoyi, Lagos.

Writing on behalf of the Ministry, Prof Akin Abayomi, Health Commissioner, announced that Accouns Medical Laboratory and Diagnostic Centre, located within a pharmacy store was shut down and sealed because it did not obtain the required government approval.

Besides the unauthorised private covid19 Laboratory, he Commissioner also lamented that some of the people tested and confirmed positive for covid19 did not turn up for isolation and treatment, thereby putting the community at risk.
According to him,
“2,257 active cases in communities are yet to turn up for admission in care centres.”
He used the occasion to admonish all Lagosians help reduce the spread of the disease by observing the safety guidelines given by the government:
