It was a test of might today as private jets competed for space at Buhari and Emir Nasir Ado Bayero’s children’s wedding.
The wedding, now famously tagged as the presidential/royal wedding had all the trappings of affluence, pomp and pageantry
The jets came in different sizes and shapes, conveying local and international dignitaries.
The President himself had earlier visited Yola to commiserate with the government and people of the state over the death of Alhaji Ahmed Joda.
Joda was a career civil servant who served under several heads of states starting from General Yakubu Gowon (rtd).
President Buhari arrived Kano to see his son wed the love of his life, Zahra, a 19-year-old daughter of the Emir of Bichi.
At the last count, over 80 private jets had lined up at the International wing of Aminu Kano International Airport.
They conveyed business icons, top government functionaries, politicians, celebrities and socialites.
Preparations for the wedding had spanned several months. It was carefully planned and executed by eminent personalities including governors and top politicians.
All the hotels in the city of Kano and environs were fully booked with many guests scampering to check into whatever guest facility is available,
