A video has captured the moment some primary school pupils went on their knees to beg the Edo state government to come to their aid renovate their damaged school building.
The video was recorded by a community member who lamented that he attended the same school as a child and never saw it in that state.
The man added that himself and some old students began putting up another structure within the compound as the government showed no concern about the plight of the pupils. He noted that both the teachers and pupils abandoned the collapsed building to avoid it caving in on them.
The horrified man asked the governor if he could ever send his own children to such a school.
He lambasted the state government for abandoning their community and refusing to renovate the school which is the only one that has served the community for years.
He added that the leadership of the primary school alerted the Local government authorities over the dilapidated school structure and according to him, they were told to move the pupils to another school in another area.
The man alongside the pupils then went on their knees to plead with the Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki, to come to their aid and renovate the school.
