She expressed her sadness upon learning of his passing, acknowledging him not only as a renowned basketball star but also as a devoted humanitarian who gave back to his community.
Okonjo-Iweala shared a memorable photo taken with Mutombo, which garnered significant attention. She described him as “a consummate humanitarian who tried to give back to his community.”
