A video has captured the moment a police officer was caught on camera slapping a man who did not provoke him in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital.
In the viral video, the gun-wielding officer was seen initially flogging the member of the public who held on to the big stick demanding his offence when the officer resorted to dish him several slaps.
“Why are you flogging me? Did I steal?” the man asked the officer in pidgin English.
When the man held on to the stick, the officer dolled out the slaps ordered him to get into his car.
A second police officer was also sighted rough handling the man’s female companion.
