Reactions Trail Senator Remi Tinubu’s Hate Comments Against Igbos (video)

Reactions have trailed a video showing the times Senator Remi Tinubu made hate comments against the Igbos during the 2019 elections.

In the trending video, the senator, who is also the wife of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, said that the deities of Lagos will be invoked to chase the Igbos out of Lagos..

One one of the video clips, “We will entreat all the deities of Lagos to chase Igbo people out.  Igbo who didn’t marry Yoruba, we will inherit them. Given how much we love Igbo, you now want to spoil everything. You are not the only tribe in this place, Hausa are here, we accommodate them, ‘Calabar’ are here, we accommodate them. But Igbo are proving difficult. We will inherit you.”

In another footage, the serving senator accompanied by her personal guards, confronted a handicapped Igbo man who had stood on the queue for hours to vote.

She challenged him for voting for PDP and insisted she did not trust any Igbo man and does not believe the voter voted for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Anger has since trailed the unguarded statements by the former First Lady of Lagos State:

Letter to Jack,: “Remi Tinubu is a senator of the Federal Republic, there’s no justification for her utterances in that circulating video. It’s hateful.”

Ayekooto: “Remi Tinubu is a careless talker. If you understand Yoruba deeply, you will know the interpretation given to her words is not the actual meaning but she is a very careless talker for someone who is a politician. Mind you Remi Tinubu is not Yoruba.”

𝕆ℕ𝕆𝕁𝕀𝔼 𝐌𝐨𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞: “Those defending Remi tinubu should watch how she also exposed her bigotry against the Igbos in this video. “Igbos we no dey trust una again”. So much from a politician. You can’t defend her actions without looking silly.”

mma ik Umeh (Tcee ): “Remi Tinubu is such a low life, very shameless woman, these has gone beyond politics, why the hate against the Igbos? Every fucking time, she says hateful word towards the Igbos. The most shameful part of this, is that she’s still a pastor at Redeem church. It’s just unfortunate.”

Henry Okelue brought another angle to the conversation, saying, “You have turned that conversation upside down and misinterpreted the content. How can you say Remi Tinubu hates Igbos when in the same video she said ‘Pelu ba she nife yin to’ meaning ‘Considering how much we love you Igbos?’”

Debola Oseni: “Remi Tinubu video is trending. When in the same video, she said, ‘Despite the love we have for you…others are here and we accommodated them’ but people choose to read a different meaning to all of the video. This is why education is important.”
