A Redeemed Pastor’s house has been burnt down by angry youths following the discovery of the corpse of a 7-year-old girl inside.
The lifeless body of the little girl identified as Demilade was found on Tuesday, 7th of December in the Pastor’s house located in the Adehun Area of Ado Ekiti.
The victim had gone missing around 8:00am December 6 after her parents sent her to buy pap for the family.
When Demilade did not come back home, her family raised an alarm and a search party was organised to look for her but she could still not be found.
Her parents thereafter reported to the police station.
Information later emerged that she was waylaid and slaughtered by the daughter of the Redeemed Christian Church of God pastor who is known to be insane.
Reports say the lunatic ran away on Monday night after murdering the victim.
A resident told Guardian that, “After their effort proved abortive, the incident was reported to the nearby police station by the family and friends.
“A search party was launched for the girl by her parents and some residents and she was never found before her corpse was found this morning (December 7) at the residence of a Redeemed Christian Church Pastor in the neighbourhood.
“So, it was, later on, we heard the pastor and his wife had gone to the State Police Command to report his mentally ill daughter’s act. I even heard the girl had once matched her father’s head.”
After the body of the victim was found, youths armed with petrol and cutlasses stormed the pastor’s house on Tuesday, and set it ablaze.
The assailant of the deceased was later apprehended in the Adehun area of Ado Ekiti while she was about to commit another murder.
She was however, rescued form an angry mob who tried to kill her by a police patrol deployed to the area.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer in Ekiti, Sunday Abutu, the arrest was made possible following information given by the suspect’s parents.
Abutu added that she is currently in police custody.
