Former presidential aide Reno Omokri is horrified by the gym shoes worn by the 2023 vice presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress Kashim Shettima to the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Annual General Meeting conference on Monday.
The Annual General Meeting of the NBA is currently holding at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The 2022 NBA AGM is themed, “BOLD Transitions” and is expected to hold between August 19 and 26, with the opening ceremony happening today (Monday).
Shettima, was present at the event to represent the presidential candidate of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
In his horror and usual rant, Omokri took to Instagram to condemn Shettima for his footwear.
The PDP stalwart berated the former governor of Borno state for wearing a pair of gym shoes with a corporate suit.
Reno Omokri wrote: “This is Tinubu’s running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, at the NBA Annual General Conference earlier today. Look at his feet. Who in his right mind wears a suit and tie and then puts on a pair of gym shoes? If Shettima does not know how to dress himself to a formal conference, how will he be able to address Nigeria’s many challenges?
“Imagine if this were the United Nations General Assembly. What will his dress sense project about Nigeria? A man who cannot package himself is very unlikely to package progress for a nation that has been damaged by the All Progressives Congress government of General Buhari! If you are a foreign investor, would you want to invest in a country where the Vice President is seen in public like this? The man heard NBA and thought it was National Basketball Association. That is why he wore gym shoe on top of suit and tie. Running mate wearing running shoes! No be juju be that?”
A fan of Atiku then slammed Omokri for criticising the former Vice President. He told Omokri to first go barb his hair.
The latter then responds: “Dear @abdoul_mahe,
“Thank you for your feedback. Well, Kashim Shettima may have Hisbah going about forcefully shaving the hairs of men with Afros in Borno, but we want a vice President focused on how to grow the economy, not on how long we choose to grow our hair! That Boko Haram style of government is why we will reject him and Tinubu in 2023, so they can stay in their houses and make sure their own hair and those of their sons are Hisbah compliant.
