Former presidential aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has hailed Nigerian singer, Davido for his support for his uncle and Governor-elect of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the very early hours of Sunday, declared Adeleke as the winner of the Osun governorship election.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor elect polled 403,371 to defeat his closest rival, All Progressives Congress (APC) opponent and incumbent governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, who polled 375,027 votes.
Omokri in a Twitter post on Sunday urged Nigerians to emulate Davido who played a significant role on and off social media to ensure Adeleke emerged winner of the election.
The former presidential aide advised those with influence and money to learn from the singer by supporting and uniting their family and not bringing them down. He also congratulated the Adeleke family on the victory.
He wrote: “Learn From Davido. Use your influence and money to support your family. Build each other up. Don’t tear each other down. Unite. Don’t divide. Be greater together. Don’t let the hater be the victor.
“Congratulations goes to the entire Adeleke family! Osun done and dusted!
Meanwhile, Governor Oyetola has reacted to the victory of Adeleke in the July 16 Osun gubernatorial election.
Oyetola in his reaction said the leadership of the APC are still studying the outcome of the governorship election.
The governor in a statement released through his Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan on Sunday said the APC would react after appraising the outcome of the election.
The incumbent governor urged his supporters in the state to remain calm and go about their businesses without hindrance.
The governor called on security operatives in the state to ensure the maintenance of law and order.
