Rescued Chibok School Girl Now Reunites with Family (photos)

The Chibok Government Secondary School girl that was rescued earlier today has finally reunited with her family.

Ruth Ngladar Pogu was held captive with over 150 others for 7 years, married off to a Boko Haram fighter and birthed 2 children comprising 1 toddler and the other a baby.

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, on Saturday, confirmed her return and also revealed that indeed she was one of the over 200 students kidnapped from the GSS, Chibok inApril 2014.

Earlier in the week, another ex-student surrendered with her Boko Haram/ISWAP husband and children.

When he received the Ruth Pogu and her children at the government house, Borno, Governor Zulum stated that the girl will undergo a rehabilitation and reintegration programme.

He expressed optimism that the remaining school girls will also return and reunite with their familiesAccording to the governor, “I am extremely excited both as Borno governor and father of sons and daughters of the state and also as a father to daughters.

“I know the feeling of families of those still under captivity but we have to remain hopeful especially with today’s development.”
