Rev Jesse Jackson Sr and Wife Jacqueline have come down with Covid-19 and now hospitalised.
This comes months after receiving Covid-19 vaccines.
A statment released by the political activist’s organisation, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition said the 79-year-old and wife, 77 were admitted to the Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Their current health condition has not yet been made public.
The Rainbow PUSH has called on everyone who has been around either of the couple in the last 5 to 6 days to self-isolate in line with the recommendations of the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention.
“Doctors are currently monitoring the condition of both. Anyone who has been around either of them for the last five or six days should follow the CDC guidelines.”

Jackson received his Covid-19 vaccine jab in January and used the occasion to encourage the black community to do the same to ensure protection against the disease.
He was admitted to the Northwester for ‘abdominal discomfort’ and had to undergo gallbladder surgery. The civil rights activist spent 3 weeks at a rehabilitation centre for a ‘short period of exercise and therapy’ because of his Parkinson’s disease, the Rainbow PUSH reports.
