Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has won the Governorship ticket for Lagos State under the Labour Party (LP) ahead of the 2023 General election.
Rhodes-Vivour scored 111 votes to defeat his opponent Mashood Salvador in the Labour Party substitution primary held on Wednesday in Ikeja, Lagos.
Salvador, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State chairman polled 102 votes.
39-year-old Rhodes-Vivour left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last week to join the Labour Party to fulfil him ambition of running for the governorship of Lagos State.
Salvador also defected from the All Progressive Congress (APC) last month.
The deputy national chairman of the LP, Lamidi Apapa, announced that 215 accredited voters cast their votes in the primary election.
Two votes were void during the exercise.
Babatunde Gbadamosi, the 3rd aspirant did not participate in the primaries.
Meanwhile, former state party chairman, Ifagbemi Awamaridi who had initially won the gubernatorial ticket of the party when the primaries were held months ago vowed to not let go of his ticket.
