Rivers state women came out in their numbers on Wednesday, March 15, to protest at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The aggrieved women clad in black, carrying placards with various inscriptions were at the office to air their protest over the outcome of Saturday, February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The women carried different placards with different inscriptions such as ”Mahmood Yakubu, resist Wike’s blackmail against you”, “INEC Rivers State is not for sale,” “INEC, don’t alter our votes,” and “INEC do the right thing for once,” amongst others.
A day after the voting on February 26, Ogoni women, in Rivers State, also protested what they alleged as manipulation of results.
