Robbers are reported to have invaded the Daystar Church where they looted valuables worth millions of Naira after Sunday service.
Operatives from the Commissioner of Police Crack team, Lagos State Command are said to have activated a manhunt for the armed robbers who operated into the night.
Eyewitnesses say that the incident occurred at the Church’s headquarters located at Ikosi Road, Oregun area of Lagos.
Some of the items looted include plasma television sets, all the musical equipment used for Church service and other valuables.
The church members are left in shock as they wonder how the robbers gained entrance into the premises despite the tight security put in place by the management.
According to Police sources, the robbers stormed the premises broke into the church, searched everywhere looking for money and when they did not see any, carted away the listed items.
By Monday morning, when the management realised extent of looting, they reported the matter to the police.
The Police operatives are said to have mobilised immediately to the scene arrested a 31-year-old suspect named Jude Okpuh, 31, for conspiracy and stealing.
Police alleged the suspect, Okpuh, to have conspired with others now at large to burgle the Church and cart away the properties.
The offence which attracts several years in jail if found guilty.
