Notwithstanding the ongoing strike of the Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU), Nigerian politicians and elites have continued to celebrate graduation of their children who study in universities outside the country.
The latest is Mustapha, son of the former Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi who bagged a first-class from a UK University.
The graduation ceremony was attended by the former Central Bank of Nigeria, Governor, his wives, children and family friends.
Reacting to the photos, Nigerians expressed displeasure about how politicians have remained unconcerned with the standard of education in the country.
They lament that while the children of the poor languish at home due to prolonged strikes by the ASUU, the rich and those who should or were in a position to fix the system send their children overseas and flaunt their graduations in the faces of the helpless poor.
Some are however, of the opinion that some middle-class citizens send their children to school abroad and not only Nigerian politicians.
The reactions:
jnrpope: “If I hear congratulations from NIGERIANS , ASUU still on strike una Dey hear Dey form Congratulations”
sremm_10: “A BRILLIANT FATHER WILL PROVIDE A BRILLIANT SON… Congratulations”
chinweo_esq: “Most middle-class citizens send their kids to study abroad, its not politicians only Abeg. When we criticise lets do so justly. A significant number of private citizens have their kids studying abroad”
