Nigeria’s First Lady and wife of President Muhammadu Buhari has called on him and the service chiefs to “save the people.

Aisha Buhari tweeted a video of her husband in a meeting with service chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Ayo Rock.

Her tweet in Hausa language is captioned “#Achechijamaa” which means “save the people.”

Accompanying the tweet in the background is a song in Hausa calling on the President to save the people of the North.

Translated in English, the song says, “Please look at our condition. We need your help. The North is crying. There is insecurity.

Our blood is being spilled. Our property is being destroyed. Intervene in our situation baba.”

The #ENDSARS protests have been going on for 9 days across the country. It seeks to put an end to police brutality and bad governance in general.

International celebrities have lent voices to the youths’ agitation for good governance.

In spite of the obvious police impunity, the youth also seek better funding for the force and better pay for the officers.

The wanton killing of protesters has drawn the attention of mothers who staged protests today, Saturday.

This is not the first time Nigeria’s First Lady has openly demanded better for Nigeria.
