A pro-Biafra group, the Biafra Nations League (BNL) has allegedly warned President Muhammadu Buhari not to “come to Imo State”, Southern Nigeria.
The president is scheduled to visit Imo State on Thursday to commission some of the projects embarked upon by the Hope Uzodinma administration.
However, in a statement issued on Wednesday, BNL advised the president to save himself from embarrassment by call off the planned visit.
The group gave the warning in a statement signed by the Deputy National Leader of BNL and head of operations and Media, Ebuka Takon.
They say that the visit would amount to an insult to the people of Imo State and the entire Eastern States for allegedly aligning with the Supreme Court to impose an administrator like Governor Hope Uzodinma against the wishes of the people.
Takon warned the people of the state not to come out to receive President Buhari while he is in the state.
Governor Hope Uzodinma had told newsmen on Saturday that the President would be visiting to commission some projects.
According to him, “While in Abuja, I secured approval for President Muhammadu Buhari to visit Imo on Thursday, September 9, to commission some significant projects by the Shared Prosperity Administration.
“More to that, Imo has been able to attract additional support from Mr President on management of some ecological problems in the state.”
