Senator Ben Murray-Bruce Reacts to Tinubu’s Intervention in Rivers Crisis


Former Senator who represented Bayelsa East Senatorial Zone, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, has reacted to president Tinubu’s Intervention in the dispute between Gov Fubara of Rivers State and Nyesom Wike.

Murray-Bruce commended President Bola Tinubu and the National Security Adviser, NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu for bringing peace to Rivers State. He State noting that Ribadu’s father played an equally wonderful role in the first Republic.

He made said this in a long post he made on his official X handle on Tuesday afternoon.

He added that only a myopic person would want to return Rivers State and the Niger Delta back to the days of insecurity and militancy, claiming that Rivers State was tilting too close in that direction.

Ben Murray-Bruce noted that a multiethnic state is more volatile than an ethically heterogeneous one, stating that “the contagious effects of such crisis on neighbouring states are too much of a risk for a region capable of intense volatility with little notice.”
