Senator Gbenga Aluko, a former governorship Aspirant in Ekiti State is dead.
He is said to have died after he collapsed in his office in Abuja on Saturday.
Television Continental (TVC) reports that the Ode-Ekiti-born politician was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Close aides who spoke on conditions of anonymity told Radio Nigeria that Aluko was not ill neither did he show any sign of illness before the sad incident.
Another source disclosed that he died of a heart attack.
Gbenga Aluko was the son of renowned economist, Sam Aluko.
The late Senator contested the governorship election under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State in 2018.
Popularly called ‘SGA,’ late Aluko was a member of the National Assembly between 1999 and 2003 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He represented Ekiti South constituency during his tenure.
