Former Nigerian lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani has issued a warning on reprisal attacks on northerners living in the southern parts of Nigeria.

The 2023 governorship aspirant for Kaduna State once again expressed worries over the horrific attack and killing of Christian worshippers at the St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, in the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State on Sunday morning.

Scores of people were killed and many injured yesterday when unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen attacked the Church during service.

A member of the 8th National Assembly, Senator Sani who earlier condemned the attack warned in another social media post that Northerners living in the South should not be molested in reprisal for the Sunday event.

The human rights activist took to his Twitter handle on Monday and said the intent of the terrorists was to trigger a vendetta and national strife.

The 8th National Assembly member added: “All Nigerians must be united in denouncing the perpetrators of this heinous infamy. Everything must be done to bring the assailants to book. Enough of this bloodshed”.
