Sex Workers Announce Price Increase, Cite Economic Hardship

Commercial sex workers in the Accra region of Ghana have announced a price increase in their services citing economic hardship.

JoyNews reports that the sex workers revealed increase in the cost of fuel and general inflation are making it increasingly difficult to sustain their old rates.

They added that they were left with no option but to hike the charges as with every other business.

Their clients are now being charged between $50 and $300 for a brief session lasting between 15-20 minutes and as much as $300 for a full night. 

JoyNews reports that the sex workers also pleaded with their clients to understand their plight and effect relevant payments.
