Reports making the social media rounds is that Rahama Sadau’s alleged sexually suggestive dress for a photoshoot risks having her face a death sentence.
The 26-year old Kannywood actress has been allegedly arrested for the dress considered blasphemous against the Holy Prophet Mohammed.
A complaint was lodged against the Sadau for the dress considered sexually suggestive.
The order for her arrest is said to have been ordered the after human rights activist, Alhaji Lawal Muhammed Gusau petitioned her to the top police officer.
Her travails not yet over, she was suspended on the 6th of November by the Northern arm of the Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN).
Sadau is billed to appear in a Sharia Court in Kaduna as her case according to Alhaji Gusau’s petition “is a matter relating to the Hadiths of the Prophet and the Glorious Holy Quran and not a matter relating to the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
The punishment for blasphemy in Islam is death.
Women across the country have made known their reservations about the development.
Some believe that it is unfair that Sadau be punished while those who raped and killed a 6-year old girl have not been apprehended and punished.
