The sights and sounds of the December #EndSARS protests massive groups of youths in peaceful processions.

The youths remained defiant in the face of warnings by the police command that they will clamp down on all unauthorised gatherings and protests.

Ahead Of #EndSARS Phase II, Police Command Talks Tough

Since the beginning of the month, there have been sensitisation messages across social media platforms by the protesters calling on each other to come out to for the phase II of the protests against bad governance.

One of the most vocal of them, Aisha Yesufu@AishaYesufu admonished them they “Don’t wait for anyone to be outraged on your behalf. No any one person’s voice is more than your voice.

“The #CoconutHeadGeneration that organised #EndSarsprotest in Abuja just started a WhatsApp group 3am & added his friend. Before noon they were on the streets. We joined them!”

Interestingly, they say that satellite and on-sight cameras and drones have been mounted in strategic locations by local and international media wit a view to completely capturing events live.

The youths promised to take the protests to houses of Assembly, army barracks and police stations in peaceful processions to show that they are indeed carrying on with their democratic rights within the ambits of the law.

Their demands this time around appear rather stringent as they demand the resignation of key persons in government, the release of their friends clamped in jail with no contact with their parents.

Most of the youths have been idle at home for at least 9 months as university lecturers continue their strike to demand better funding the country’s tertiary institutions.

So many of the youths were laid off pre-covid 19 pandemic and so many more during the pandemic.

They lament the harsh conditions for business start-ups and insist that even if they are shot at and killed once more, they would be happy dying for a better country.

The next group of protesters sing te national stem right in front of soldiers who had hunted road blocks in Calabar.

Last week, some victims of the #LekkiTollGateShooting stormed the venue of the judicial panel set up by Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu.

They arrived wit various degrees of injury to prove that contract to the soldiers’ claims that live bullets were not fired at the protesters, they were indeed lucky to be alive unlike some that they say, sustained fatale injuries.

One of the victims had his leg amputated as a rust of bullet wounds, others arrived on life support with nurses holding on to their support gadgets.

It is not certain how many days the latest protest will last or for how long daily.
