Sights and Sounds of Ugandan Presidential Elections

World

Ugandans go to the polls tomorrow, 14th January 2020 to participate in the presidential elections.

The prominent contenders are 76-year old Yoweri Museveni who has led the country for 34 years and Robert Kyagulanyi Ssemtamu better known as Bobi Wine.

Bobi is one of Africa’s popular musicians but has dared to express interest in taking over power from the incumbent president.

Sadly, his supporters are haunted down and brutalised in public. Recently, his personal security were all withdrawn leaving with his German shepherd dogs as guards.

It appears the younger generation in his country have thrown their weight behind him, a move that has attracted the ire of state authorities.
