The video of an unidentified soldier brandishing a machine gun and daring members of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries has caused public outrage.
In the disturbing clip, the soldier accused the churchgoers of being “liars” for allegedly fabricating miracle stories.
The soldier, visibly aggressive, challenges the church members to approach him, threatening that they would not survive or escape injury if he were to open fire.
He said in pidgin English, “Chosen! I am a Chosen, I am a Chosen, come stand for on top of this one. Allah walahi you go give testimony tire.
“You dey see am bah. All these one wey una dey lie for una village people, you just come stand make you see. We go Chosen your head.”
The video emerged days after the church issued a strong rebuttal against the recent ridicule of its members’ testimonies circulating online.
The Church has firmly rejected accusations of fabricating testimonies and criticized the misleading nature of some viral videos.
In a statement released on Monday, the Church urged Nigerians to approach internet content with caution, warning against believing everything seen online.
The Church specifically condemned bloggers they described as “devilish,” accusing them of manipulating and taking statements out of context for sensationalism.
