All Progressive Grand Alliance Governorship (APGA) Candidate for Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo’s campaign convoy was attacked at Nnobi, near Nnewi, Anambra State.
The ward chairman of the party, Hon Chukwuemeka Nwokenagu was killed along with four others including 2 members of a local vigilante group.
Three of the vehicles in the convoy were set ablaze and completely burnt down during the attack which occurred at Afor Nnobi, in Idemili South Local Government Area on Sunday night.
One of the vehicles burnt by the unknown assailants belonged to D Nelson Omenugha, the son of Anambra Commissioner for Basic Education, Prof Kate Omunugha.
A major campaigner for Soludo and the All Progressive Grand Alliance, Omenugha better known as Eze-B confirmed the attack and said the assailants set his Hilux vehicle ablaze.
Eze-B was a ward chairman under APGA and is said to be one of the most influential youths in Okpuneze Uruagu, Nnewi.
His convoy comprising other members of the Soludo campaign team were waylaid by the hoodlums in a Toyota Sienna on their way from Akwa to Nnobi.
