Somaliland President, Muhamed Abdulahi Farmaajo exchanged blows at a press briefing yesterday with the deputy, Vice President, Abdirahman Saylici.
The country has not known peace in the whole of modern history and remained so since it broke away from Somalia in 1991.
Unfortunately, since it declared independence, it is yet to be recognised as an independent nation by most countries of the world.
In the latest development, the country’s rancour got the better of the key leaders as a disagreement ensued during a live press briefing.
This resulted in exchange blows to the shock of viewers and the entire world. The cause of the fight is not yet known but journalists say they both suddenly rose up to the shock of the crowd to deal each other the blows.
It took at least 8 – 10 men to separate the 2 leaders while journalists rushed to get pictures of the incident.
Muhamed Abdulahi Faraamajo is the 9th and current President of Somaliland since the 16th of February, 2017.
He has dual citizenship with America and the founder and chairman of the Tayo Political party. He became the president after defeating the former president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud with 184 votes out a total of 329 by members of Parliament.
