Former Governor of Kaduna State, Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, has lost his son, Faisal Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi to a road accident.
Daily Trust reports that a family source who did not want to be mentioned confirmed the tragic incident.
According to the report, the accident happened along Kaduna-Zaria highway on Saturday evening.
“The accident occurred along the Kaduna-Zaria highway this evening. He was taken to an undisclosed hospital where he was declared dead. His father was at the hospital; his corpse has been conveyed home for burial arrangements,” the source said.
This is the second tragedy that has befallen the families of top Nigerians within the last couple of days.
The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Mele Kyari lost his 23-year-old daughter, Fatima on Friday.
A former minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen also lost her son, Richard Adamu Tallen after an illness. He passed on at the intensive care unit of the Cedar Crest Hospital, Abuja where he was placed on oxygen last week Sunday.
