Omoyele Sonore is currently trending as he appeared in court today with his ‘Babalawo’ heavily clad in his ‘shigidi’ and ‘atupa.’
Reports say that the judge was frightened to see the ‘Babalawo’ chanting inaudible incantations on arrival and while in court.
Omoyele Sowore, the publisher of Sahara Reporters and convener of the #RevolutionNow protest has been held in connection with the protest since January 1, 2021.
He had been released on bail at the end of 2020 after being held for many months.
Dressed in red and black attire with stripes of local white chalk on his body, some witnesses say the ‘Babalawo’ posed as his bodyguard.
His appearance which is typical of African spiritualists and herbalists drew the attention of passersby and other people within the court premises.
A relative of Sowore’s, Kikelomo had earlier in the day, mused about the presence of the spiritualist. According to her,
