Nobel laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka has been decorated as the Super Marshal of the Ogun State chapter of Operation Amotekun.
The ceremony was carried out today, April 1st by the state Governor, Dapo Abiodun. The Governor said the move was aimed further tackling insecurity and the activities of Fulani herdsmen in the state.
The governor added that the inclusion of the literary icon was also to strengthen the newly inaugurated security outfit in the state. He then went on to decorate Soyinka with some emblems of the Amotekun Corps.
During the ceremony, “Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun – MFR@dabiodunMFR said that he “had the honour of inaugurating the indigenous security outfit, AMOTEKUN Corps in Ogun State earlier today. We also commissioned patrol vans and motorcycles.
“This outfit is very close to his (Soyinka’s) heart and issues of security, particularly in the South-West.
“On that note, I have a singular honour and privilege to present Prof some of the Amotekun insignias being the Super Mashal of A,otekun in Ogun State.”
