Nobel Laurette, Prof Wole Soyinka has visited the Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho in Benin Republic.

The freedom fighter is still in Benin after being released from detention by the government of the Francophone country.

Details of the meeting were not released to newsmen at the time of this report but it is still being awaited.

In a previous development, Pa Akintoye told newsmen on the 7th of March that Igboho had been released from detention.

Igboho fled his residence in Ibadan in July 2021 and escaped to the Benin Republic after the Department of State Services declared him wanted for allegedly stockpiling arms to destabilise Nigeria.

The Yoruba Nation agitator was, however, arrested by Interpol at Benin airport on July 19, 2021, when he tried to board a Germany-bound flight.

He was, however, released on health grounds after about nine months in a detention facility in the Benin Republic.
