Stanbic Bank is currently trending for defying Federal Government’s order to freeze the accounts of some of its customers.
The customers affected are alleged to be promoters of the #EndSARS protests.
While at leats 8 youth customers with Access Bank had their accounts frozen, Stanbic bank stood its ground and continued to allow the youths carry on with their bank transactions.
The Access Bank accounts were frozen at least 2 weeks before the Central Bank of Nigeria got the court order to direct the freezing of the accounts.
The youths argue that Access Bank should have done a thorough research before rushing to obey the order.
They commend Mr Atedo Peterside, Founder of Stanbic Bank for following due process and being thorough with his banking operations.
Trending on Twitter yesterday, youths had called on their colleagues across the country to close any account they hold with Access Bank and seek alternatives.
The Country Head, Human Capital of Stanbic Bank, appears to have taken advantage of the imminent influx of youth entrepreneurs to reassure the them that the bank has their backs.
This she did while taking her road walk this morning, Saturday, 14th November.
Indeed, Stanbic bank has recorded a new influx of youth account holders whom Amobi describes as the future of the nation.
Access Bank on its part, sensing the looming business downturn, issued a statement saying they only acted on instructions from the Federal Government regulatory boy, the Centarl Bank of Nigeria:
Sadly, the youths have responded that the apology came too late as they have all moved on.
