Sola Saraki Library Complex, a popular edifice named after the father of the immediate past President of the Senate has been pulled down by the Kwara State Governor, Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman.
The Library, known as the Sola A Saraki Library Complex is said to be owned by the Ilorin West Local Government authority.
Reports say that the Saraki Library is named after the late Olusola Saraki, the strongman of Kwara Politics and father of 2 prominent politicians, Dr Bukola and Gbemi Saraki.
The humongous edifice was pulled down on Tuesday but the state government is yet to give reasons for its action.
Dr Bukola Saraki who was not only a past Senate President but a former governor of Kwara State has reacted to the demolition of the structure by the state government.
He took to his Twitter handle to express horror and displeasure over the destruction of the edifice.
According to Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki@bukolasaraki· “Wow! I just got the news that the major official assignment carried out by the governor of my state, Kwara, today, is the demolition of an old public library named after my late dad, Dr. Olusola Saraki. May Almighty Allah continue to retain a place for Oloye in Aljannah Firdaus.“
