A new update has emerged that a street is to be named after the slain 41-year-old lawyer, Bolanle Raheem.
The Chairman of Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area, John Campos gave the directive on Wednesday for a street to be named after the pregnant lawyer who was killed by a police officer on Christmas day.
Campos made the proclamation when he visited the family of Raheem today.
The development comes three days after the lawyer was shot by a police officer on Christmas Day while trying to make a U-turn at the Ajah Bridge.
The avoidable murder of the lawyer has attracted angry reactions as the police officer who shot her is said to have been suspended.
The Lagos State Police Command has disclosed that they have concluded investigations over the unfortunate death of legal practitioner, Bolanle Raheem.
The State’s Police Spokesperson, SP Ben Hundeyin made this known where he revealed that upheld recommendations will be sent to the Police Service Commission for a final verdict.
“The Investigation report is out and it has been forwarded to the IGP. The query and recommendation have also been forwarded. So, we have done our part from Lagos and those are two things that are required of us.
“The next step is for the IGP to put out their recommendation, or uphold our recommendation. Then it will be sent to Police Service Commission for review and final verdict,” Hundeyin disclosed.
In an effort to immortalize the lawyer, Campos said a street would be named after her in the Eti-Osa LGA of the state.
On his part, her husband, Gbenga Raheem said nothing could be done to bring back his wife, as he was said to have appealed for calm.
Until her death, the deceased was the Chief Executive Officer of Croston Homes and co-founder, of City Building, a real estate and property development company.
